Forests are vital to our survival. They provide clean air and clean water, prevent soil erosion and encourage rainfall.
All villages that border the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve have become partners in the protection and conservation of the forests and the biodiversity that inhabit it. Not all forests have the same value. Peat forests like that found in the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve, provide a perfect habitat for biodiversity to flourish.
These forests support many unique and often endangered animal species such as the beautiful Bornean orangutans, sun-bears and clouded leopards.
